This weekend I went on a day trip to Oxford with the sole purpose of seeing Jeff Koon’s exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum.
I’ve loved Koons’ work for a long time now and was particularly excited to see his ballerinas sculptures. Even though I really liked the exhibition, I was a bit disappointed on its scale. All press materials referred to it as a “major exhibition”, but in reality, it consisted of three rooms only and not that many works of art. The show I saw in 2016 at the Newport Street Gallery was way more comprehensive.
Either way, it was worth the trip to Oxford and I really liked the Ashmolean – especially the ceramics room.
